An environment in which pupils feel they will be better able to learn!
A local television news report asked some of the pupils what they thought of their new school; they said they liked it very much and it is an environment in which they feel they will be better able to learn. This is always our aim when designing learning spaces so this is wonderful to hear!
In the vast atrium we provided pods for private meetings, beautiful bespoke seating along with mobile display walls for student work to celebrate their achievements. In the kindergarten we designed magical learning spaces for young learners including a bespoke-designed submarine, lighthouse column and wave-topped shelving alongside a reading boat (pictured, right) and raised reading platforms complete with trees that can be used for display.
Innovative and creative environments to excite and inspire learning
It was a privilege to work on this exciting project, developing bespoke furniture to create spaces that are precisely tailored to the school’s educational vision and values; from dry-wipe flip top tables with pre-printed staves so students can experiment and practice notations in the music room to fitted shelving and soft seating in the library, individual work pods in the senior library, dry-wipe writable collaboration tables, one of longest runs of tiered seating we’ve ever made and much more. Every aspect of each space has been carefully considered to deliver the most impact for learners and teachers.
